Focus on God’s Word Not Works .mp3
Speaker 1 (00:00:00) – So, one random morning I was sitting in my Bible time with my coffee, cozied up when no sun had risen yet. And I had this idea that I’m about to go work out, but I have so many golden nuggets that God just gifted me. And I know sometimes they’re just for me, but sometimes I cannot wait to share them with you. I mean, isn’t that what going and making disciples of all nations is? The Great Commission, right?
Speaker 1 (00:00:25) – So I decided I would jump on a Peloton so I can still get my workout in and still check that box for my habit building, my habit stacking, the atomic habits that build incredible momentum for my energy and for my sustenance and for my family and everything I’m connected to. So this is your behind the scenes, your backstage pass, your not live, but still really good Peloton and preach moment. Okay? So you might hear me huffing and puffing, disregard that or not.
Speaker 1 (00:00:57) – Join me, start working out while you listen to Peloton and preach and then you won’t be distracted by my windedness. Just think I’m on the Peloton next to you or running just like, you know, not coffee combo. Okay? We’re actually moving. So let’s do the thing together. Let’s move. Let’s remain fit in faith by activating and not just talking about the activation and hang out with me on Peloton. I’m live Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6am Eastern and you can find me in my Facebook group, which is the Fit and Faith Network, just like the app.
Speaker 1 (00:01:27) – If you don’t have the app, get the app or hang out Instagram live. Okay? It’s really fun. Enjoy Peloton and preach. Come breathe hard with me. Let’s go. Listen up. For such a time as this, we must grow our faith and business muscles. The self-help industry is trying to own spirituality and wellbeing. The entrepreneurial space is becoming flooded with business pursuits focused on success instead of sustenance. But the only one who can make us fully whole, fully free and fully alive is Jesus. So I’m ecstatic you walked into this hypothetical gym today.
Speaker 1 (00:02:03) – I’m your trainer, Tamara Andress, also coined an entrepreneurial rabbi, teaching the pursuits of God, which unveil our purpose and ultimately unleash our desired provision. This fit acronym is for founders, innovators and trailblazers. Here, Marketplace ministers conversate and educate to build others from the inside out while also sharing their testimonies of endurance. So while it’s not a fitness broadcast, I do surely care about your mental, physical, emotional, relational, financial and spiritual health. You’re going to hear all about it.
Speaker 1 (00:02:35) – If you’re passionate about your becoming journey, leading others to greatness and living a life of abundance and joy, then you’re well on your way to being fit in faith. Let’s hydrate.
Speaker 2 (00:02:49) – So the other day I had an opportunity to speak with a huge corporation. It was awesome, 200 employees. I ended up showing up on the Peloton and the guy who hired me to do it was like, what? Talk about motivation. You couldn’t be more motivated than watching someone ride on a Peloton while they’re motivating you. And everyone’s faces were just like, what? I wonder if it like brought, it was never intended to like bring guilt in that moment. Like someone is riding and you’re not riding with them.
Speaker 2 (00:03:25) – Sorry, Kelly, Brenda, all the people on Facebook, thanks for hanging out. I’m not sure where I’m going to put you Insta. You just do not want to, not you, you want to hang. I see all your eyeballs, but you’re probably getting dizzy now that I’ve moved you so much.
Speaker 1 (00:03:43) – Oh, heaven’s sake. Whoops.
Speaker 2 (00:03:51) – Okay, let’s see. This is not good. Really want you guys to hang out with us today. My tripod is not happy with me at all.
Speaker 1 (00:04:07) – Hmm. Hmm.
Speaker 2 (00:04:12) – What should I do?
Speaker 1 (00:04:13) – See this thing?
Speaker 2 (00:04:15) – It’s not participating kindly. Not participating kindly. The other way that I could mount it is you would be looking at my nose the whole time, which you may or may not care. Clearly I am healthy these days. I’ve been coming at you guys with like crazy sickness still. All right. Hmm, so not working. Patience is a virtue. I’m trying to put my other phone up because IG is live with me too. I see people dropping out. I could imagine why. It’s totally fine. It’s totally fine. All in God’s timing, right?
Speaker 2 (00:04:56) – I can’t wait to teach you what I learned out of this trilogy read that I’m doing.
Speaker 1 (00:05:01) – I wonder if I prop it like that. Okay, now I just, it might shake a little bit. That might be, that might be the best we get today and then I’m gonna have to come up with a new plan. A new plan! Alright, can we read? I know I already recentered and prayed and I know you guys are like on the same page but I feel a little distracted and I want to get into like all of these highlights and revelations and research that I was doing this morning based around obedience connected to wisdom.
Speaker 1 (00:05:43) – So we can be obedient but if we are not wise our obedience is just religion. See God comes through. Never said that out loud. I’ve never put those words together. We can be obedient and we can be wise but if we are not wise in our obedience we are just religious. We’re just checking the boxes. We’re just going to church on Sunday. We’re just doing the fast because it’s a 21-day fast and everybody else is doing it and God says we’re supposed to do it.
Speaker 1 (00:06:23) – We’re just praying because, oh I said my evening prayers or I said my morning prayers or we’re just raising our hands for worship because everybody else is doing it because isn’t that what worship looks like? But obedience without wisdom means that you are just doing the actions of faith and not actually believing the depths of what the promises are connected to the word, connected to the living God, connected to the kingdom of God and his heart and his desire and his passion for his children.
Speaker 1 (00:06:56) – And so this morning with this trilogy read of Proverbs, this Bible in a year which puts you Old Testament, New Testament, Psalm, Proverb, not the whole thing just bits and pieces of the Psalm and Proverb every day plus the full Proverb every day and this fasting book that I’m reading. Like everything interconnected and this is again as God reveals to you and you start learning you see this common thread. The common thread is always good.
Speaker 1 (00:07:28) – It’s always him and it always is connected to wisdom because without wisdom we aren’t operating in Kingdom mindset, Kingdom heart set, Kingdom intention. Instead we’re operating in the ways of the world which could essentially just be knowledge. Okay? Knowing something and being wise in it is very different. Wisdom comes in the experience of when you experience the Holy Spirit and he teaches you something, there’s no denying that I know that I know that I know and then I can actually teach and and share out of that well of wisdom.
Speaker 1 (00:08:09) – But if it’s knowledge somebody else approaches me and they give me new information and this new information is based in the new research we have found that did it and it’s actually going to change my mind away from the truth and the knowledge of God, the wisdom of God. And so I highly encourage you when you’re reading the Word, when you’re listening to Scripture, when you’re listening to a sermon, not every teacher or preacher is preaching the Word and wisdom of God.
Speaker 1 (00:08:46) – They might be preaching their interpretation of God which could have an element of wisdom but it’s not the whole truth, nothing but the truth so help me God.
Speaker 1 (00:08:57) – And therefore you’re getting knowledge that could be tainted because they either haven’t researched, they haven’t actually been transformed by that Word and I just really am hopeful that the kingdom continues to reveal itself to the people, that God continues to show up and show out and the words and the messages that are straight from heaven just continue to expand and flourish across the nations because you know God is not coming back. This was from Dr. Miles Monroe’s by the way.
Speaker 1 (00:09:33) – Miles Monroe, he’s not coming back until the whole earth knows his name and whether or not they believe, that’s up to them, the wisdom of Christ will encourage them as such. The knowledge of man connected to who God is will keep them stagnant, not in freedom, locked up.
Speaker 1 (00:09:58) – And so judgment day will still arise, that will still occur, but it’s not coming through the economy crashing. It’s not coming based on who is in the White House. It’s not coming based on a global pandemic. That’s not how it says biblically that he’s going to arrive.
Speaker 3 (00:10:16) – And so it’s the word, it’s the wisdom, it’s the truth that sets you free because when crazy situations like that happen, you can say, yeah, the world’s in shambles.
Speaker 1 (00:10:29) – Yeah, the nation’s falling apart it seems.
Speaker 3 (00:10:31) – Yeah, there’s things that are imploding on themselves.
Speaker 1 (00:10:35) – But my God, my God is coming back on a white stallion, not in the destruction and despair of a crazy scenario. I remember in 2011 when the Twin Towers were attacked, there was a fear of man, not the fear of God.
Speaker 4 (00:10:57) – It was the fear of man that was putting people into frenzy.
Speaker 1 (00:11:01) – And I think this is where even like the Balenciaga situation and what’s happening in Hollywood and sex trafficking, all this stuff.
Speaker 4 (00:11:08) – There’s fear of man over our children. But God says, fear me. And this fear concept can get really confusing to people who don’t understand the root.
Speaker 1 (00:11:20) – Again, this is the research element.
Speaker 3 (00:11:22) – I remember being really confused, being like, wait, why would God want me to be afraid of him?
Speaker 1 (00:11:28) – If he’s my father and I’m a mom, so I can understand that role at least, I don’t want my kids to be afraid of me.
Speaker 3 (00:11:36) – But I also want my corrective nature, my wisdom to help guide them when they’re in a conversation with a friend or out in the city streets having an option to do one thing or the other.
Speaker 1 (00:11:49) – Now my kids are too little to be quite there, but I can think of my nieces in this moment.
Speaker 3 (00:11:55) – And as a loving mother, as a loving aunt even, but as God, as Christ, as a loving father, the fear of God is the connection to his correction.
Speaker 1 (00:12:08) – The connection to his correction. I want to be corrected. I’ve told you guys before when I get on my podcast, every time I have an interview, prior to me jumping on, one of my prayers is, God, will you convict me? If I show up to those things just to press play and have it be known and have me connected to their large communities, or if I do it out of fleshly intention, out of knowledge rather than wisdom, I’m actually just wasting my time.
Speaker 3 (00:12:43) – One of my most precious resources, one of my most precious gifts.
Speaker 4 (00:12:50) – Are you wasting your time in the things you’re spending? Are you wasting your time in the Word?
Speaker 1 (00:12:55) – Now, don’t take that too hard because I don’t think God wastes anything when it comes to his Word. But I think if you’re doing it based on what we talked about just to check the box and not doing it out of a desired correctional heart, you’re not willing to release, to let go, to be called higher, then you’re never going to hit the wisdom elements, the growth, the trajectory, the sound lifestyle, righteousness, sanctification, holiness. Let’s just say fruitfulness because that sounds fun, right?
Speaker 1 (00:13:32) – Sanctification, righteousness, holiness sounds churchy and it sounds like, I don’t even know what that, now, but I want the fruit.
Speaker 4 (00:13:41) – You want the prosperity, right?
Speaker 3 (00:13:44) – You want the goodness. You want the riches of heaven.
Speaker 4 (00:13:48) – They all come together.
Speaker 1 (00:13:50) – It’s not an exclusive.
Speaker 4 (00:13:51) – It’s not a, you get this and then you get this.
Speaker 3 (00:13:55) – God’s like, I’m the whole meal.
Speaker 4 (00:13:57) – And in order to experience all of my flavor, I’m asking you to be obedient and I’m asking you to be wise and I’m asking you to have wisdom in your obedience.
Speaker 1 (00:14:10) – Thank you, God. Okay, so let’s get into the Word a little bit. First, I was reading in Genesis and it was talking about Abraham and Abraham had just lost Sarah and this is business wisdom right here. You know, marketplace ministers is where founder collective derived from. It’s what fit and faith podcast and media was all about. I’m reading heavy today on this high resistance.
Speaker 3 (00:14:40) – Man, she’s going, she’s on 50.
Speaker 1 (00:14:43) – I’m not on 50 because I should be up. My butt should be off the seat, but I’m here with you and Abraham.
Speaker 3 (00:14:51) – So here we go.
Speaker 1 (00:14:52) – Abraham, he’s talking. He had just lost his wife and he’s talking to the people of the land in which he is currently inhabiting, which is technically not yet his and yet God has promised it to him. There’s business wisdom right there. How many of you have your feet in a specific business role or relationship or anything where you are like, this is supposed to be mine.
Speaker 3 (00:15:24) – God told me if I do this thing, all of his riches in glory are mine.
Speaker 1 (00:15:30) – This is a part of my vision. But why am I sitting in the audience instead of me being on stage talking to the hundreds or the thousands?
Speaker 3 (00:15:38) – Why?
Speaker 4 (00:15:39) – Why am I following this person? Why are my friends with this person whose following keeps increasing and increasing and increasing? And mine just like staying stagnant.
Speaker 1 (00:15:47) – God, I thought you said for me to speak to the nations.
Speaker 4 (00:15:52) – We get in our head.
Speaker 3 (00:15:53) – We think we deserve territory, but we’re not first willing to pay for it.
Speaker 1 (00:16:01) – Pay the price, the manmade price. And I’ll talk to you why the manmade price connected to God’s desire for you matters.
Speaker 3 (00:16:11) – And we aren’t willing to wait.
Speaker 1 (00:16:16) – Man, waiting on God, waiting on God, the importance of waiting on God and knowing his timing, but waiting is action. And Abraham proves that as his wife just passed and he wants to bury her on the property that God has promised him because he knows in his heart of hearts, because he’s made a covenant with the Lord, he’s not leaving the station God has him on. Are you that sold out? That when something in the natural happens, even as much as a death, that you are not going to stop.
Speaker 3 (00:16:48) – You are not off mission because something in the natural happens. In fact, God’s calling you higher into a place of sound judgment, into a place of wisdom to see if not by testing, but by faith, you decide to act. So Abraham wants to bury his wife here. And he says, wherever you have the best plot of land, I want to purchase it from you. He wants to purchase this property. And the prince, I’m sorry, the kind of leader of the place, he says of the Hittites specifically, listen, my Lord.
Speaker 4 (00:17:28) – See? No Instagram. I’m having crazy malfunctions today. But you guys got to hear this.
Speaker 3 (00:17:37) – He says you are honored prince among us.
Speaker 1 (00:17:40) – This is what the Hittites leader says.
Speaker 4 (00:17:41) – You’re an honored prince among us.
Speaker 3 (00:17:43) – You can have whatever you want. The finest of tombs. It’s yours. And Abraham bowed low before the Hittites.
Speaker 1 (00:17:50) – Humility is connected to wisdom.
Speaker 4 (00:17:54) – Humility is connected to wisdom.
Speaker 1 (00:17:55) – If you know why you’re acting out of obedience and what is required of you in that space, humility is required.
Speaker 3 (00:18:03) – So he bows low, even though they’re just called him a prince.
Speaker 1 (00:18:07) – And he goes on to say that be so kind to ask Ephron to let me buy his cave, all the names down at the end of the field, and I will pay full price in the presence of witnesses. Oh, my goodness.
Speaker 3 (00:18:23) – How many of you guys are trying to get a deal?
Speaker 4 (00:18:26) – How many of you guys are like, can you give it to me for cheaper? And they’re your friends. They’re people who you value and you see as worthy.
Speaker 3 (00:18:36) – But you’re trying to stroke a deal and quiet rather than saying, I will pay full price for what God has taught you, trained you, gifted you in, allowed you to do with your life, because I am certain by what God said in the next step of my life. In my obedience, I respond. And I know that the riches of heaven are connected to that, inclusive of the fruitfulness that would come here on earth. And I want to do it in public.
Speaker 1 (00:19:08) – Now, this is a business concept. It is also a kingdom concept.
Speaker 3 (00:19:14) – There are business principles in the Bible that people will follow and do, sometimes not in the wisdom of the Lord.
Speaker 1 (00:19:23) – They’re not doing it in the presence of God or the Christ like presence of the Lord. They’re doing it in order to have riches and fame and honor and glory go to them. And so I want you to be mindful of the decisions that you make and the relationships that you’re establishing. Are you honoring them from a Christ like perspective? Are you doing it to get something in return? Because I think this happens so often.
Speaker 3 (00:19:50) – People are establishing relationships, as Abraham did with this foreign city, that he knows God has given him the truth and he’s already created covenant.
Speaker 3 (00:20:00) – That this will be my property. This will be my land. But he still honors what is currently happening in the natural. He’s still honoring it.
Speaker 2 (00:20:09) – They reject it.
Speaker 3 (00:20:10) – They’re like, no, no, no, no. Did you not hear me? Like you’re a prince of the land. We honor you. Like I’ll just give you the best you can choose whichever one you want. And he says, no, listen to me.
Speaker 2 (00:20:19) – I will buy it from you.
Speaker 3 (00:20:20) – Let me pay the full price for the field so I can bury my dead wife there. So finally he said like basically, it’s really expensive. It’s 400 pieces. 400.
Speaker 2 (00:20:35) – And Abraham says, great. Here you go. So he was probably saying, you know, it’s 22K. I know you probably, I know it’s a lot. And he says, great, let’s do it.
Speaker 3 (00:20:46) – Here you go. Here’s your 400. I want all of what you have.
Speaker 2 (00:20:50) – I want all of it.
Speaker 3 (00:20:51) – When you go to the doctor, do you negotiate price on your health?
Speaker 2 (00:20:56) – And now I’m not saying you can’t negotiate. I know that there’s plenty of examples where that happens. But it’s this action of honoring God, staying committed to it. But guess why he’s actually doing it? In my opinion anyway. This is my opinion. When I look deeper into why he did it, I think about the control element that could take place if they had gifted it to him and something in their relationship went awry. At that point, they then have his wife’s tomb in their possession. Are you giving things over to other people because you want a deal?
Speaker 3 (00:21:43) – And they now have possession and you now owe them something?
Speaker 2 (00:21:48) – You don’t know what God’s going to do.
Speaker 3 (00:21:49) – You don’t know where God’s going to lead. You don’t know those things without actually stepping in obedience with wisdom every single day. And I can assure you, if there is a man connected to your fruit and not the abiding of just the Father, that fruit might not always be there. Their fruit might not always be there.
Speaker 2 (00:22:12) – Their sustenance might not be connected to the vine like yours is intended to be.
Speaker 3 (00:22:17) – But because it’s taking your vine longer to grow, you’re going for the quick win. You’re going for the fast cash. You’re going for the quick lane, the HOV. And you’ve still only got one person, so you’re not fully following the law. Integrity connected to wisdom, connected to obedience, is how you have and hold the keys of the King, the keys of heaven.
Speaker 2 (00:22:46) – Abraham knows this, so he activates it. And just a couple of, maybe a chapter later, it’s time for him to die. And guess what?
Speaker 3 (00:22:54) – He already has the plan. He already has the plot. It’s already safe for him to do, and it already has established and set up the generations to come to do that without having to face the same problem, without going back and being like, my dad is now dead.
Speaker 2 (00:23:10) – Is it okay if I bury him with my mom? It’s expensive, by the way, to bury people. Can’t imagine 400 pieces what that is in reference to now. Inflation is real.
Speaker 3 (00:23:24) – But what if he had gone back and they had now the control of the property, the control of the placement, depending on where they are. And now they’re saying, oh, actually, it’s going to be triple, and you’re going to have to give me all of your flock.
Speaker 2 (00:23:45) – Because their treasure trove was really in the animals in which they had so they could feed their people and their property. People will manipulate because maybe at that point, the people are in demise.
Speaker 3 (00:23:58) – Maybe they don’t have what they need.
Speaker 2 (00:24:00) – Maybe they’re just greedy and they want more. But now they’re in control because they don’t see Isaac as the prince. They called Abraham a prince and he is now dead. And so they might think that they own all of his people because they’ve been so gracious to have them in their space. You guys have to look ahead.
Speaker 3 (00:24:20) – Wisdom allows you to have clarity and a future forecast into what may happen so that you can activate today and ultimately to know based in the Proverbs of the day that it is kindness and loyalty, us wearing that as a shield and also as a reference to who we serve every single day. So when you’re in these business scenarios, when you’re in these family relational situations, when you’re even in church, y’all, you have to stand with loyalty and kindness in reference to what God has done in your life and who you serve.
Speaker 1 (00:25:03) – And I think loyalty to God, not loyalty to man, the loyalty connected to your spouse and your family and things like that, is also how Abraham was activated in that moment. Set him up and set his generations up for peace, which transcends all understanding and favor that flows from heaven because of his activation despite what man wanted to give him in that moment. Man wants to give you a lot of things, a lot of false promises, a lot of hidden agendas happening right now. Can you get an Amen? Can I get a witness?
Speaker 4 (00:25:44) – And in these false promises, people are literally bowing down to the false promises that thank you in the guise of a lie, in the guise of what will actually hurt you. Man, I’m just going to go on a little rant right now and talk about the sugar industry.
Speaker 1 (00:26:05) – Man, you know how hard it is to keep my kids away from having candy when people give it to them? It drives me absolutely nutty.
Speaker 4 (00:26:13) – It’s everywhere.
Speaker 1 (00:26:14) – Candy is everywhere.
Speaker 4 (00:26:16) – It’s a part of every holiday. It’s like, oh, it’s on the street corners, passing out candy in the street corners. And I’m like, no, buddy, you can’t have that. No, sweetie, you can’t have that. And every single time I have to fight the same battle because they’re giving it freely, kindly, cheaply to my children, to their teeth, to their health system. And they’re justifying it.
Speaker 1 (00:26:44) – Why?
Speaker 4 (00:26:46) – ADHD stemmed from red dye, and yet everyone’s letting their kids have candy all the time and then pumping their kids on the other side with a pill.
Speaker 1 (00:26:55) – No offense to anybody who gives their children or chooses to have medicine. I’m just talking out my own personal experience with my son.
Speaker 4 (00:27:04) – And I’m like, no, I have a right here.
Speaker 1 (00:27:06) – I’ve got control here.
Speaker 4 (00:27:08) – And if I want to teach for generations to come, I’m going to do some things that are hard.
Speaker 1 (00:27:12) – I’m going to pay the 400 pieces like Abraham did, and it’s going to be a part of our ascension into our health, which is our wealth, for them to have to learn to say no, even though it looks easy in the current moment. I might have to drive to go get the healthy, sweet treat for them.
Speaker 4 (00:27:32) – I might have to spend extra money for them to have that in order for them to still feel like satisfaction in that realm, while also knowing that they’re nurturing themselves, their bodies, and the future generations that are connected to their bodies.
Speaker 1 (00:27:50) – Okay, and rent.
Speaker 4 (00:27:52) – And rent.
Speaker 1 (00:27:53) – Sugar industry is like who we’re talking to right now with Abraham. So good. Good reference. Okay, so I want to go on because what happens next is really rad. So Abraham wants to find, because Sarah just passed away, and he knows that he’s getting older. He wants to find someone for, hi baby, his son, a bride for his son, but he doesn’t want to find the bride in the current place of the Canaanites, which if you look chapters before, they reference that the Canaanites are essentially worshipping the devil, their Satanists, their wild, wicked people.
Speaker 1 (00:28:32) – Okay, and so he doesn’t want to have his lineage connected to this, especially knowing that he’s eventually going to have authority. Essentially don’t hang out or don’t cross paths with the wicked because it looks good or because it’s easy.
Speaker 4 (00:28:48) – So the easy thing for him to do would just be like, go and pick anyone that you want. Anyone that you want and anyone would say yes. Or I’m going to send my servant on my son’s behalf, one, so he’s not tainted or taunted by his fleshly desires, into my old hometown where my family like lineages so that I know that they have heritage and honor, at least you hope, from what he’s familiar to, right?
Speaker 1 (00:29:18) – And what he knows he’s been sent out of. And he does this, I mean, just have to read the chapter.
Speaker 4 (00:29:25) – It’s so good.
Speaker 1 (00:29:26) – He ends up talking to or taking this, the servant ends up taking this incredible journey.
Speaker 4 (00:29:35) – I find out later that it’s essentially via camel 450 miles that the servant has to take. It’s a two week journey for him to leave Abraham, to go back to where his family resides, to find this wife on behalf of another man, and to do so in the knowledge that God is before him in the journey, and he is going to reveal, of all these women magically reveal the right one.
Speaker 2 (00:30:03) – Imagine the pressure on this servant.
Speaker 1 (00:30:07) – Again, loyalty and kindness.
Speaker 2 (00:30:09) – How loyal was this man to his master Abraham as a servant? This is a word for us.
Speaker 4 (00:30:18) – How loyal are we? Are we willing to go the 450 miles to find our husband? To find our spouse? Our wife?
Speaker 1 (00:30:28) – I don’t think so.
Speaker 4 (00:30:30) – I think we’re trying to jump on the app. I think we’re trying to go out to the club. I think we’re trying to maybe even go to church service right here up the road. Or maybe every single church service. I’m not saying it’s not possible.
Speaker 1 (00:30:43) – I’m not saying God won’t do it.
Speaker 2 (00:30:45) – I’m just asking are you willing to go the distance?
Speaker 1 (00:30:48) – Because I know people who have been summoned or called to other cities and they haven’t gone. I know people who have been called or summoned to other countries and they didn’t go. I know people who were accepted to prestigious colleges and it’s okay that they didn’t go. But that’s it. Sorry.
Speaker 2 (00:31:04) – Personal, personal, personal dig right there.
Speaker 4 (00:31:08) – But there’s opportunities that arise that I believe are founded from the Father but because in our mind’s eye, in our flesh, that’s not possible.
Speaker 2 (00:31:18) – I can’t do that thing.
Speaker 4 (00:31:20) – We immediately hinder. We delay the will of God.
Speaker 1 (00:31:25) – It’s true and you can. You can delay the will of God based on your obedience and lack. Lack of obedience and lack of wisdom.
Speaker 2 (00:31:34) – Wisdom with obedience causes, creates, births, fruit.
Speaker 1 (00:31:40) – So he goes 450 miles via camel and he follows, hey baby girl. Hey, wait, wait.
Speaker 4 (00:31:47) – Can we not do that right this second? If you set it all up, as soon as I’m done with just a couple more minutes, I’ll actually play with you.
Speaker 2 (00:31:55) – Okay. Thank you, lovey. You woke up very early this morning. This is usually quiet time. Intentional so that when they wake up, I am here to openly receive. Here, listen to what happens.
Speaker 1 (00:32:11) – I want you guys to understand not just by the obedience and the pushing out of, I want to own this because God promised it to me and I’m going to do what is in his will connected to it. I want you to take note of how he prays.
Speaker 4 (00:32:26) – How does the servant pray?
Speaker 2 (00:32:28) – First off, he takes an oath. This oath is awesome.
Speaker 1 (00:32:32) – So I was kind of confused by it because I know what covenant looks like and I know that oath that the Lord had established with Abraham himself and how altars and sacrifices were made. But when I see this one, it specifically has him putting his hand underneath his thigh of his master. That’s how the oath was taken. Essentially saying, I’m going to go do this on your behalf and on Isaac’s behalf. I promise you, I’m taking an oath that I’m going to do it. And he swore to follow Abraham’s instructions in the process.
Speaker 2 (00:33:03) – That was a part of the oath. Not only to do it, but to follow Abraham’s instructions, which he laid out before him.
Speaker 1 (00:33:09) – So many things happening.
Speaker 2 (00:33:10) – First off, God will lay out the instructions.
Speaker 1 (00:33:14) – When you say yes out of obedience and you don’t follow suit, what happens to the oath? What happens to the covenant?
Speaker 2 (00:33:25) – It’s broken.
Speaker 4 (00:33:26) – You broke it.
Speaker 1 (00:33:27) – Now we know that by Jesus coming and dying on the cross, the oath of our salvation, the covenant of our salvation, it’s nothing that we can do to destroy it.
Speaker 2 (00:33:37) – He is open and his love and his eternity is forever.
Speaker 1 (00:33:42) – And we have access to the kingdom through that.
Speaker 4 (00:33:44) – But if you want to experience heaven on earth, which is your birthright, we are co-heirs with Christ right here. And you are operating out of that wisdom and obedience. You’re going to get to the pearly gates. And while you might be accepted, he’s going to say, go away.
Speaker 2 (00:34:02) – I never knew you.
Speaker 4 (00:34:04) – Go away. You actually never obediently followed me. Or you’re going to get there in my treasure trove.
Speaker 1 (00:34:12) – My riches in heaven.
Speaker 4 (00:34:14) – All those blessings.
Speaker 1 (00:34:16) – I’m going to invite you to my party. OK, you’re invited. You’re always invited.
Speaker 4 (00:34:21) – Just know that this is real.
Speaker 1 (00:34:23) – We don’t know.
Speaker 4 (00:34:24) – We don’t know the fullness of that, but I can tell you what the world says or the word says.
Speaker 1 (00:34:28) – And I can tell you what the world says.
Speaker 4 (00:34:30) – So they take this oath and I was like, well, what is that? And not everything you read has a back story to it.
Speaker 1 (00:34:40) – You can sometimes see like one person’s name drop. And if you don’t go on a hunt to find out who that person is, you’re just bypassing somebody in the Bible who you could be learning from, who might have another key for you.
Speaker 4 (00:34:55) – This is so important for us to recognize.
Speaker 1 (00:34:59) – Thank you, sweet Sharon.
Speaker 4 (00:35:01) – My phone dropped off of my stand, so I am biking with one hand, reading with one hand, teaching to two devices. It’s OK. It’s all good.
Speaker 2 (00:35:10) – God is good. He makes away.
Speaker 4 (00:35:12) – So he takes this oath. And so what the under the thigh means is also on the loins. It could be referenced in the synonym of under the thigh also means on the loins.
Speaker 1 (00:35:22) – So essentially, when you put your hand underneath the man’s thigh, you are saying to all of his lineage because of his testicles.
Speaker 2 (00:35:35) – I’m just going to say it out there.
Speaker 1 (00:35:37) – Testify in the English actually comes from testicles because of what happened in the covenants or the oaths that were taken. So under the thigh is stood because of your swearing on the seed of that man.
Speaker 2 (00:35:52) – OK, you’re swearing because you didn’t have a Bible to swear on. They’re swearing on the seed, which is that person’s whole lineage, their generations to come.
Speaker 1 (00:36:01) – That’s the promise, right, that they see of God. The second is they’re swearing on their circumcision. So because they have a covenant with God and they have followed through on the circumcision, it’s kind of the same. And so they put the hand under the thigh.
Speaker 4 (00:36:14) – This happens here.
Speaker 1 (00:36:15) – Also happens with Joseph and Jacob, I think.
Speaker 2 (00:36:19) – It happens with Joseph a couple of chapters later. So do your research.
Speaker 4 (00:36:24) – It’s really fun. It’s really cool to find out, like, what does this actually mean? And I’m reading this.
Speaker 2 (00:36:30) – I’m like, wow, how interesting. I don’t take oaths like that anymore.
Speaker 4 (00:36:34) – But what if you did?
Speaker 2 (00:36:36) – What if the knowledge of taking an oath is based on your lineage?
Speaker 4 (00:36:42) – When you do something and you’re doing it out of a place, again, of obedience, connected to a promise, a promise that you don’t break because it’s on your children’s children’s children.
Speaker 2 (00:36:54) – Would you? Should you? Could you? Yeah, it gives you a lot more fire in your actions. It gives you a lot more loyalty in your actions.
Speaker 4 (00:37:06) – This is why the kingdom of heaven operates in connection to all of these things.
Speaker 2 (00:37:11) – But if you don’t know the word, you are operating out of the world.
Speaker 1 (00:37:16) – You’re letting go of things that are not intended for you to ever let go of.
Speaker 2 (00:37:21) – And you’re giving things away that God promised to you.
Speaker 1 (00:37:26) – Inclusive of your identity.
Speaker 4 (00:37:29) – We give parts and pieces of our identity away. This is even connected to having premarital experiences.
Speaker 1 (00:37:36) – My daughter’s in the room.
Speaker 4 (00:37:37) – And you’re giving parts and pieces of yourself away that God intended for you to have in a covenant marriage and covenant love. And so, of course, you have wandering thoughts. You’re looking at things, wandering in front of you all the time by getting on the Internet and searching out things you shouldn’t be searching out.
Speaker 1 (00:38:00) – You’re scrolling TikTok and you have not created any filters for yourself.
Speaker 4 (00:38:05) – You don’t have enough sound judgment to go four hundred and fifty miles. Do you know what he could have done? You know how many cities he likely had to stop that? And he could have had a wayward spirit. He could have had a wayward soul.
Speaker 1 (00:38:17) – He could have had his eyes go.
Speaker 4 (00:38:18) – He had all of his treasures, all of Abraham’s treasures on that camel with him.
Speaker 2 (00:38:23) – He could have been passing out goods and getting goods right back.
Speaker 1 (00:38:27) – But no, he took an oath and he followed suit in obedience for four hundred and fifty miles to go and to ultimately meet Rebecca, who would come home with him. And how he did it, this prayer that he said, which is what I wanted to reference and I’ll close here. But I have to tell you all about this other stuff that I learned on Thursday, because it’s so rich. Make sure you come back.
Speaker 4 (00:38:52) – He talks. He says, oh, Lord, God of my master, Abraham.
Speaker 2 (00:38:56) – He prays on on behalf of his master. How many of you guys pray on behalf of your CEO? How many of you pray on behalf of your leaders?
Speaker 1 (00:39:04) – Are you doing that for the government as we’re called to do? Are you are you calling out their names on behalf of your city leaders, on behalf of your governor, on behalf of your mayor?
Speaker 2 (00:39:14) – Are you coming on their behalf in front of the Lord? I don’t I’ll be honest. I don’t do that very often. Our church has a phenomenal job of playing for our leaders. I went to a really cool prayer breakfast where we prayed over the school board and all of these things, but I don’t do it on the regular.
Speaker 4 (00:39:29) – So, oh, Lord, God of my master, Abraham, praying on their behalf.
Speaker 2 (00:39:35) – Please give me success today and show unfailing love to my master, Abraham. What if your leaders, your liaisons felt the unfailing love of God that day? How do you think they’re going to treat you?
Speaker 1 (00:39:53) – They’re going to be an overflow state.
Speaker 2 (00:39:55) – They’re going to be a state of satisfaction that the world could never get.
Speaker 4 (00:40:01) – And so praying just out alone, I’m like, ah, it’s amazing. See, I am standing here beside this spring and the young woman of the town are coming out to draw water. This is my request. I will ask one of them, please give me a drink from your jug. If she says yes, have a drink and I will water your camels too.
Speaker 2 (00:40:22) – Let her be the one who you have selected as Isaac’s wife. This is how I will know that you have shown unfailing love to my master. At any point do you hear him talking about himself other than for him to be able to see and receive water in a moment.
Speaker 4 (00:40:41) – No, you don’t hear him. He’s talking and praying on behalf of the oath he has established. When I activate in the world and I get on Peloton and preach, I am not praying for me. I am praying to God through me, through the action and obedience and wisdom of me to speak to you, for you to be able to receive, for you to understand the oath in which I took, the oath in which I stand, the authority in which I showed up, which is on behalf of my master. Man, this is so rich. What if everywhere you showed up, you had treasure troves to bless people with?
Speaker 4 (00:41:29) – And every time you showed up, you prayed on behalf of your master for his will to be done and for what his heart desires, which is for his son to have a beautiful covenant love with his people for that to happen. Before he finished praying, before, before he finished praying, nope, not after, not a month later, not a year later, and he had to dwell in the city and find this person before he finished praying, he saw a young woman named Rebecca coming out with her water jug on her shoulder.
Speaker 2 (00:42:11) – I want that kind of response from God, selfishly. And so what happens when I see you guys come on live, I go, there’s my Rebecca for the day. I’m about to bless her with all of my master’s goodness.
Speaker 4 (00:42:28) – I’m about to bless him. I’m about to bring him back to his father’s house and he’s going to be adorned by the riches of heaven. You’re going to get to live in the comfort and the honor and the glory and the joy of the Lord.
Speaker 2 (00:42:49) – And all he’s looking for is obedience because it took obedience and loyalty and kindness, which are wisdom words, which are wisdom references, which are wisdom truths for him to recognize. She’s the one. She’s the one. The honor and respect in which he showed, she showed him without even knowing who he was, without intention of receiving what he immediately gave her, which was a gold ring for her nose. All my nose wearing girls out there ain’t me. But yes. And two large gold bracelets for her wrist. She goes on to share.
Speaker 4 (00:43:31) – It’s exactly who she’d been. He’d been summoned to go find the exact person she didn’t. He didn’t have to like go.
Speaker 2 (00:43:39) – And who are you connected to? And what is all I need to meet? All I need to meet all your friends.
Speaker 4 (00:43:43) – No, he knew God revealed instantaneously. But you know why?
Speaker 2 (00:43:49) – In my opinion, two things happened. Abraham said prior to that, you will be revealed when you go. Go of heaven.
Speaker 4 (00:44:05) – Who took me from my father’s house, my native land, and I solemnly promise to give this land to my descendants.
Speaker 2 (00:44:10) – He will send his angel ahead of you.
Speaker 4 (00:44:13) – And he will see to it that if you find a wife there for my son, he will see to you that you find, not if. He will see to it that you find a wife there for my son.
Speaker 2 (00:44:24) – If she is unwilling to come back with you, then you are free to end this oath of mine.
Speaker 4 (00:44:31) – Do you hear this? So the master, God is so good, the master said, I will send, well Abraham did it.
Speaker 2 (00:44:40) – He said, God will send an angel ahead of you to do his will on my behalf.
Speaker 4 (00:44:49) – Do you have that kind of faith? Do you have that kind of faith? Do you have enough faith to say that God will do this thing on my behalf and I don’t have to really work that hard?
Speaker 2 (00:45:03) – First off, Abraham didn’t even have to leave his comfort zone. He didn’t have to travel the 450 miles. His servant did it for him. And I know we don’t live in a time where we have servants per se, but there is there is an opportunity that someone else does the legwork.
Speaker 4 (00:45:20) – And I often think sometimes those people aren’t connected to God, but through the action and through your faith thereof, this could be your leadership teams, through the action and your faith, they come to know God because they say, oh, he did what you said he was going to do.
Speaker 2 (00:45:38) – He revealed the person to me.
Speaker 4 (00:45:41) – She came. It was exactly who you asked for without question.
Speaker 2 (00:45:47) – And I’m back safely from not only a 450 mile one way, a 900 mile trip, a month long expedition. There’s waiting in that. There was waiting in that even though God revealed it immediately in that promise. He was obedient in the two weeks.
Speaker 4 (00:46:06) – That alone was prayer in action. He couldn’t sit in his comfort zone and say, God, instead of me having to go, can you just send the woman here?
Speaker 2 (00:46:17) – And then I can be in covenant with my master Abraham and it’ll all work itself out. No, he also didn’t lie and go to a random city on the way that was just 50 miles away. He could have hung out there for two weeks and had a party and brought back a lying stranger saying that he was or she was who he was. He was obedient to the will of God.
Speaker 4 (00:46:45) – And Abraham, on his behalf, sent an angel out to do the work for him.
Speaker 2 (00:46:50) – All he had to do was his side of the covenant. What’s your side of the covenant? We’re going to end here today. What is your side of the covenant? What is God asking you to do? Is it going to take you a while to get there? Is it going to be hard on you? Are you going to go without water? Are you going to be willing to fast until you get to that destination?
Speaker 4 (00:47:15) – Are you going to pray like the servant prayed? Please give me success today and show unfailing love to my master and give exact instructions.
Speaker 2 (00:47:28) – Please give me a drink from your jug.
Speaker 4 (00:47:32) – If she says yes, he’s literally like preparing the conversation and the interaction in his head. He’s saying, God, can this be how this works?
Speaker 2 (00:47:42) – Because if this is how it works, I’ll know it’s from you. Are you writing your plan, making it plain so that it can be prosperous? Come on, Marcus Ellis. We’re about to jump on to 7 a.m. His plan. We’re going to talk about the plan of God this morning on Tuesday morning testimonies in Clubhouse. And you can see here the plan of God, the prosperity of God connected to this entire story, all the way from the fact that Abraham had the riches to give and instead of being controlled, he wanted to publicly display, this is mine. This is mine.
Speaker 2 (00:48:21) – He took ownership of what the world tried to give him and he took it for himself because he knew that God was going to bless it because God already promised it to him anyway. And he was willing to be without he was going to be without the 400 pieces in order for him to remain in obedience to the original oath to the master, not to the master of people. Secondly, he took oaths with his servants. God is trying to take an oath with you. He’s asking what you put your lineage on the line for me, because ultimately your lineage is my lineage.
Speaker 4 (00:48:57) – That’s the same for the servant. He knew that if Abraham continued to be blessed, he was going to be under the house of blessing out of the house of many.
Speaker 2 (00:49:08) – He was never going to starve. He was never going to go without.
Speaker 4 (00:49:11) – You are never meant to starve. You are never meant to go without.
Speaker 2 (00:49:14) – God doesn’t set up houses like that.
Speaker 4 (00:49:17) – That’s not who he is. And if you don’t know that, if you feel like the poor pauper, you’re not operating in the presence and the knowledge and the wisdom of Christ. And you surely aren’t staying connected to his word, which brings to fruition instantaneously the prayer if you’re specifically asking and operating out of that knowledge, wisdom and wellspring.
Speaker 2 (00:49:44) – This is not hard.
Speaker 4 (00:49:46) – This is not hard.
Speaker 2 (00:49:47) – People make the kingdom difficult. They make by religion it difficult. Rub these beads, say this thing, turn your body five times, wave this flag, speak like this, teach like that. That’s not the will of God.
Speaker 4 (00:50:08) – Yes, there are signs and wonders that come from those places and there is hope out of those places.
Speaker 2 (00:50:15) – There are gifts that you’re meant to do.
Speaker 4 (00:50:18) – There are oaths that you’re meant to take. But ultimately, Jesus did the work.
Speaker 2 (00:50:24) – Jesus did the work.
Speaker 4 (00:50:26) – He went the long journey for you. He brought you back into covenant with all the riches of the heavens at your right hand to be seated as a king of kings alongside Jesus. But we have a placement here on earth for a reason. You’re breathing with reason. And if you think that you get to prop your feet up in the knowledge and wisdom of Christ and just soak it all in for yourself, you are sadly mistaken. It says to go and preach the kingdom, to teach other people, make disciples of nations.
Speaker 3 (00:51:10) – That’s literally what the servant got to do.
Speaker 2 (00:51:13) – That’s what Abraham was setting up, was discipleship for his son long after he’d be alive. Rebecca came home with him without question and got to be married to his son and Abraham was still alive to witness because he was old. Still alive to witness the ceremony and shortly after that he died and his son got to bury him in his wife’s tomb. Full circle moment. What did you learn today? I pray that it blessed you. I pray that your eyes were revealed to something that you may or may not be doing.
Speaker 3 (00:51:50) – Remember, correction and conviction are out of the loving kindness of God to bring you into closer understanding of his character.
Speaker 2 (00:51:59) – That’s it. He just wants you to know him more deeply so that you can operate out of a place of wisdom, a wellspring of wisdom and no one can tell you otherwise.
Speaker 3 (00:52:09) – I am so excited for what the Lord is doing through his kingdom ministers, through the kingdom movement, through the marketplace and I just hope that you continue to follow. We drop these Peloton and Preaches.
Speaker 2 (00:52:26) – It will obviously not include all of my technical malfunctions at the beginning.
Speaker 3 (00:52:31) – We drop them on my Fit and Faith podcast. If you’ve never listened to that, we have incredible interviews. We had an incredible interview yesterday.
Speaker 2 (00:52:38) – I can’t wait for it to drop with a woman who was speaking about her experience with the Holy Spirit and anointing oil and was so rich in the ministry in which she gets to help hundreds of people weekly through the homeless outreach that she does. The favor of God is on his people and if you need clarity on that, if you don’t see it, stick with it long enough and watch what happens in those people’s lives that you see who are surrendered, who are surrendered and obedient because that’s a key, an ultimate key to heaven.
Speaker 3 (00:53:09) – I love you guys so much. Come hang out with us on Clubhouse right now, 7 a.m. Eastern on Tuesdays and let’s chat.
Speaker 2 (00:53:17) – Let’s unpack this a little bit more. All right, bye. That was an interesting ride, y’all, with this thing. That was very interesting. I feel like I need a chiropractor now from doing that.
Speaker 3 (00:53:31) – Okay, I love you guys. I’m super glad that this stand, stage day ending, you guys hung out with me this morning and for those who don’t remember, I’m reading this one, the one year Bible for women.
Speaker 2 (00:53:42) – It is so rad. It is so rad. There was so much, I mean, I look at my notes and my highlight, I’m like, whoo.
Speaker 3 (00:53:48) – What bookstore is it from?
Speaker 2 (00:53:50) – Waverly wants to know.
Speaker 3 (00:53:51) – It is from Barnes and Noble. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:53:53) – Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:53:53) – That’s the one we went to. I got a devotional. A devotional.
Speaker 3 (00:53:58) – Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:53:58) – Yeah, we’ve got a devotional that same day for her birthday.
Speaker 3 (00:54:01) – And a couple other journal things.
Speaker 2 (00:54:02) – And a couple other journal things. Yeah, she did.
Speaker 3 (00:54:05) – I love you. Good morning, Jonathan. Good morning, Kelly. Yeah, massage would be great. I don’t have time for it today, but I will make time this week.
Speaker 5 (00:54:13) – An apples of gold word.
Speaker 3 (00:54:16) – I love it.
Speaker 2 (00:54:17) – Rabbi wisdom gives clarity. This is great teaching. The HOV. Wow.
Speaker 3 (00:54:24) – Yes, I love reading these. Okay, I always go back and comment on them. Prayers over your day. Ultimate blessings. Get into Genesis 20, 23.
Speaker 2 (00:54:34) – Yes.
Speaker 3 (00:54:35) – Yes.
Speaker 2 (00:54:35) – Genesis 23.
Speaker 3 (00:54:36) – Reread it.
Speaker 2 (00:54:37) – See what God prompts to you and in your spirit.
Speaker 3 (00:54:40) – But there is business insight here. There was familial insight here. There was how to pray. There was what covenant and oaths look like and promises with God. There is faith and action in here.
Speaker 2 (00:54:54) – There is answered prayer.
Speaker 3 (00:54:56) – And I love all of those things and more. Please give me success on this mission. Oh, Lord, God of my master, Abraham.
Speaker 2 (00:55:05) – See that I am standing here beside this spring. This is my request. Gosh, request.
Speaker 3 (00:55:10) – Request what your heart desires. Request what you see. Request what he’s already given you to see so that it can be manifest in front of your face. And the prayer will be answered before you’re even done praying.
Speaker 1 (00:55:21) – All right.
Speaker 3 (00:55:22) – Love you guys.
Speaker 1 (00:55:27) – Hey, y’all, it’s me again. Obliterating shame and activating purpose in marketplace ministers for the kingdom expansion!
hi!
