What is your take on expectations? I chose a word for my year this year, and you’ll learn all about it in today’s episode, but expectations were connected to it. I thought I was being noble, maybe wise, perhaps, but Art Costello, today’s incredible guest, just totally wrecked my lens about expectations.
We don’t live any minute of any day without them; whether they’re high or low, unmet or met expectations can affect our chemical makeup – causing manic episodes, depression, anxiety, PTSD, or trauma-based things that occur in our childhood.
I thank God for the deposits that have brought us to this place. And I thank God for the deposit of bringing you at this moment to be deposited with fresh seed – let’s bloom.

Welcome to the F.I.T. in Faith podcast, where we explore the intersection of faith, wellness, and personal development. I am your host, Tamra Andress, and in today’s episode, we have a special guest, Art Costello, joining us to discuss the topic of expectations.
Expectations are a part of our everyday lives, and whether we realize it or not, they have a significant impact on our mental and emotional well-being. In fact, unmet or unrealistic expectations can cause a range of issues, from anxiety and depression to trauma-based experiences that may stem from our childhood.
As we embark on this discussion, you’ll hear about my personal experience with expectations and how they’ve influenced my journey. I also share my word for the year and how it relates to the concept of expectations.
But the real star of this episode is our guest, Art Costello. Art is an author, speaker, and podcast host who has a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to expectations. He brings a unique perspective to the table, and I can’t wait for you to hear what he has to say.
Throughout the episode, Art and I discuss the impact of expectations on our lives, how to manage them effectively, and the importance of self-awareness in this process. We explore the dangers of setting unrealistic expectations and the role that communication plays in managing them.
So, whether you’re struggling with managing your expectations or simply looking for new ways to approach this topic, this episode is for you. Join us as we explore the power of expectations and how to harness it for our own growth and development.
Thank you for tuning in to the F.I.T. in Faith podcast. I hope this episode leaves you feeling inspired, encouraged, and ready to bloom.
