Subtitle: A Journey of Risk, Resilience, and Revelation
Hey there, lovely readers! It’s been a while since it’s just been me sharing my thoughts with you. You might not realize it, but for me, it feels like a personal reunion. You see, I’ve been preoccupied with pre-recorded shows, live pedals, individual trainings, and a whirlwind of activity. But today, I’m coming at you live in the heart of my messy middle.
The Fit and Faith Podcast was born out of a desire to explore the messy success stories of individuals who’ve experienced comebacks, those moments when they found themselves in life’s darkest pits, caves, or fetal positions. It’s about resilience, transformation, and the messy journey to a brighter future. If you’ve followed my journey, you know about my book, “Always Becoming,” which is about to make a comeback of its own, hitting the shelves of Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and many other places. It’s an exciting time, and I can’t wait for you to see the stunning cover.
But today, I want to share something even more personal with you. I’m in a messy middle of my own, a place between conception and birthing. It’s like the uncomfortable phase of pregnancy where you’re aware of the impending arrival, but you’re not quite sure what it will look like or how it will change your life. It’s a season of uncertainty, discomfort, and anticipation.
You might be wondering how this relates to you if you’re not into faith or my particular beliefs. Well, here’s the thing: we all have a backstory, a journey filled with ups and downs, successes and failures. We’re all connected by our humanity and our shared experiences. So, even if our faith looks different, there’s a common thread that binds us.
In this season, I’m taking a leap of faith, and I invite you to join me. I’m birthing something new, something I can’t fully define yet. It’s not a neatly planned business venture or a carefully outlined project; it’s a messy, uncertain, and thrilling process of creation.
I’ve been reading a book called “The Artisan Soul” by Erwin Raphael McManus, and it’s been a game-changer for me. The book talks about the creative process: we dream, we risk, we create. What stood out to me is that we cannot create without risk. This year, I’ve taken more risks than ever before—risks in my business, my relationships, and my personal growth.
As I’ve embraced these risks, I’ve realized that the messy middle, the uncomfortable phase, is where the magic happens. It’s where we find our true strength, resilience, and purpose. It’s where we break free from the confines of our comfort zones and step into the unknown.
Now, let me be clear; this journey isn’t always easy. It’s filled with stones thrown our way—challenges, setbacks, and doubts. But it’s in these moments that we discover our capacity to overcome, to persevere, and to grow. Just like the woman in the Bible whose accusers dropped their stones, we can rise above the judgments and criticisms that come our way.
I’ve learned that intimacy with the Divine is where creation is birthed. It’s in those moments when we draw close to our Creator that we find the strength and inspiration to move forward. And yes, every time we leave that sacred space, challenges may arise, but they serve a purpose in our growth.
This season, I don’t have all the answers, and that’s okay. What’s being birthed isn’t fully defined yet, but it’s exciting, and I’m willing to embrace it, mess and all. I’ve realized that I don’t need a perfect plan or a step-by-step guide; I just need to take that first step and be willing to do it messy.
I encourage you to consider your own journey. Are you in a messy middle? Are you on the cusp of something new and exciting but uncertain? Embrace it. Take the risks, draw close to your source of strength, and create something beautiful out of the chaos. Remember, the messy middle is where dreams come to life.
So, here’s to birthing your purpose, stepping into the unknown, and creating a masterpiece out of the mess. It might not be easy, but it will be worth it. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll look back at this season and see it as the moment everything changed.
Until next time, keep dreaming, keep risking, and keep creating. You’ve got this!
